1. New York City-based artist Trong G. Nguyen’s recreates the works of writers such as Marcel Proust, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, and Roland Barthes in his ambitious art installation, Library (2007-present), by hand-writing their texts word for word on grains of rice.

    Rice kernels, ink, gold paint, gold leaf, clear mylar. Each grain of rice contains a single word written in ink - with the book titles written on grains painted gold. The complete text or individual chapters written word for word on rice kernels.
